A Black Man Is One Of The Leaders In Computer Science?! Now That's What I'm Talkin' About!

One of our brothers, Dr. Juan Gilbert is using his mad computer science skills to do things like teach youth algebra with hip-hop. Mmmhmmm I wish that I could have learned algebra like that, too. Creating a love for math in kids isn't all he's doing. His Human Centered Computing Lab designed Prime III -- "the world's single most accessible electronic voting system allowing more people to privately and independently vote versus any other system."

To the black youth dodging math and science because you think it's hard, Dr. Gilbert is one reason to dodge no more! Even if you're like me and have a passion for English, Dr. Gilbert is still a great role model. Not only does he make it his business to be the epitome of awesomeness in his field, he ensures that his work positively impacts the lives of others. No matter what color you are, making a difference is something all youth should strive to achieve.
